"I am passionate about the teaching and learning of languages and currently work as a language publisher producing books for Australian secondary school students. While I have worked as a publisher for three years, I undertook the Master of Arts (Editing and Communications) as I wanted to formalize my understanding of the different aspects of the industry – manuscripts acquisition, editing, design, production, sales and marketing."
"I work in a rapidly changing field that demands innovation and flexibility. Ongoing study keeps me informed of the latest developments and helps me look beyond how things are currently done to how they could be done better. I have found the choice and flexibility of the Master of Arts very rewarding. With the support of the University I undertook my industry placement overseas with an educational publisher in Indonesia, researching how Indonesian education publishers respond to a range of new market imperatives. The placement was fantastic, and enabled me to tailor my learning to my own interests and needs."
