Size and structure
The University of Melbourne consists of seven campuses, including the main campus in Parkville, Southbank in the city, Burnley, Creswick, Dookie, Shepparton and Werribee. Detailed information about campuses is available.
There are 12 faculties or schools:
- Architecture, Building and Planning (including the Melbourne School of Design)
- Arts (including the Graduate School of Humanities & Social Sciences)
- Economics and Commerce (including the Melbourne Graduate School of Management)
- Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences
- Melbourne Graduate School of Education
- Melbourne Law School
- Melbourne School of Engineering
- Melbourne School of Land and Environment
- Melbourne School of Graduate Research
- Science (including the Melbourne Graduate School of Science)
- The VCA and Music (Parkville campus | Southbank campus)
- Veterinary Science
The University of Melbourne also includes the Melbourne Business School.
In 2007, there were approximately 28,500 undergraduate students, 10,800 graduate coursework students and more than 4,500 graduate research students. 25 per cent of the student body was made up of international students from 113 countries. In 2007, the University spent $570 million on research and had research income of approximately $307 million.

The University currently owns 33 cultural collections and is home to:
